After the launch of a recent campaign demanding that age-appropriate retesting be carried out every three years once a driver turns 70, we want to know what you, the ADIs, think.
We’re putting together a blog about the difficult issue of OAP drivers and how to assess whether they are still fit to drive, if the current laws are good enough – and what family/friends should do if they believe an elderly driver they know is a risk to the public.
We want to hear what you believe the dangers are, if you have any anecdotal evidence about the risks of unfit elderly drivers – and most importantly, what you would recommend to tackle the issue, i.e., top-up courses/assessments by instructors? Tougher new laws about self-assessment? Etc.
Let us know your thoughts and please include your name and driving school in your reply so if we use your feedback, we can give you a proper shoutout in the finished blog. Feel free to contact me on adam@theorytestpro.co.uk with your thoughts or alternatively, let me know if you would prefer to talk about the issue by phone.
Many Thanks,
Adam Editor Theory Test Pro
