A bizarre incident caught on an ADI’s rear dash cam shows how a driver became enraged by a learner pulling over to let the emergency services through.

It’s a typical manoeuvre that we’re all used to when we see the flashing lights of an ambulance in our rear view mirrors – safely pulling over to let it pass. But one learner out on his lesson with ADI Darren Willett of Willett’s School of Driving was confounded when he pulled up safely and the female driver behind became enraged, resulting in a torrent of offensive hand gestures.

ADI Darren told the Daily Express: “I really didn’t understand this woman. I signalled for her to look around to see the ambulance coming up behind her and when she started using those gestures I pointed at my wing mirror to see if she would understand that. I asked the learner if he thought anything we did warranted that behaviour, but we were both completely at a loss.”

While we all try and figure out what caused the outburst, we’d like to hear how often you find yourselves coming in for inexplicable flak from motorists when either taking or giving a lesson. Is it a regular occurrence? Let us know in the comments section below.
